Product Review
"Such a Great Sound for so little in Price Beutiful Look and Big Sustain"
Feature:
Obviously at the outrageously low price point, there is things that they compromised on in order to give it the ultra accessible price. But, you get some small tools to keep her all tight. And your basic throw away cable. But you also get the fantastic Steinberger tuning heads that are easy to use, and keep this tonal monster consistantly in tune. I think that the Steinbergers look way cooler and fit the case better than the tuning heads on the Gibson "real" variation. I think that you would be hard pressed to find a better guitar for the price. And many of the professional guitar mag reviews that led me to my purchase agree. (Most give this guitar 4.5 to 5 out 5 stars)
Quality:
For this guitar being made in Korea, you wouldn't be able to tell of any inconsistancies. I looked and looked for any problems with the neck, frets, the neck joint, headstock, and hardware set up. It's all flawless! The Mahogany body and rosewood fret board are beautiful! The sustain is fantastic. The set up out of the box is really good! No fret buzz anywhere, and the action is nuetral. Just like I like it. Pretty perfect! Although I'm sure that you can find better on a guitar that is five times the price or more.
Value:
I challenge anyone to find a better guitar for the price. And I don't care that you are a metalhead, if you're a guitar player, you should know a great guitar, and can appreciate it's sound no matter what the look or specialty is whether you play only powerchords or jazz arppegios we can appreciate a great guitar guys.
Desirability:
She is aesthetically pleasing! Even beautiful! The finish is gorgeous, and ultra smooth to the touch. And the headstock with it's unique steinbergers looks elitist and modernises a true classic. This Firebird is stunning and makes the Gibson model look pretty standard. But I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some will disagree with me.
Sound:
Three distictively different tonal qualities from the three different pick up selections. The bridge humbucker has a bit more of a muddier crunch when pushed through more gain, but retains a cool bluesy tone when the gain is cleaned up. ( I've been playing it through an Orange Tiny Terror, and Orange 2x12 cab.) The neck humbucker is a-lot more bright and warm, obviously adjustable from the tone control. The central pick-up/ combination setting is where I find that the depth and tonal potential is at it's greatest. Turn the gain up here, and shred through your pentatonics to satisfy your aggressive cravings. Or turn down the Tone pots to half way and clean up the gain to find some sweet cool, darker blues tones. I mainly play Indie rock, and tonally it covers my sound perfectly. I also play a Gibson Les Paul Voodoo, and a Schecter Ultracure. Each has a very distinctive tonal quality, but each is beautiful in it's own right. I'd say the Epi Firebird is by far the best bang for the buck.
Ease of Use:
It's pretty fool proof, it's set up is done in America, and actually seems better than my Les Paul that was born and set up in Nashville. Plus the Steinberger heads are insanely easy and fully functional. The alnico 57' replica pick ups sound like a much more expensive magnet. I still can't get over how good this sounds at this insanely low price.
Support:
No need for support as of yet. But what company truly gives you great support? You're always responsible for anything wrong with the guitar once you own it. And I've owned many.
Overall:
Read above. But This is the right choice for many guitarists who want flexibility, tonal insanity, and overall great build and value. Plus it looks really cool, and breaks away from the typical Les Paul, SG, Strat, Tele look that so many of us only know as quality.

Roland Cube 30X - Control Panel Guitar Amplifier (1 x 10 in speaker)

Product Review
Feature:
This amp needs additional adjustment controls on the effects. Right now there are just two effects knobs with several settings on each, which does make for quickness and simplicity though at the price of customizability of the effect. All other features are great.
Quality:
Oh yeah, this amp oozes quality. Totally solid, yet light-weight for its size and wattage. The pots are active not passive, so I won't be expecting any crackling ever.
Value:
First of all, this thing is compact for a 30 Watt, and very loud too. Need earplugs for anything above half volume. So that with the good distortion makes for a great value. Like others said, best in its price range. Only thing that might come close is the similar Vox, but the Vox is quite a bit wider than the Cube and for me compactness was important.
Desirability:
It will attract metal-babes. If you want the older gentler ladies, get a vintage Fender amp and wear dockers when you play.
Sound:
Sound is extremely good after some EQ adjustment to remove boominess on the bass. My favorite settings are "acoustic" and "r-fier." Acoustic is brighter, more compressed, and less twangy then the clean channel, makes for a great clean sound. R-fier is Pantera/Metallica style distortion ... smoothly heavy and articulate, does not sound muffled or tinny but rather beefy and well-distorted, allows easy and clear pinch harmonics and crunchy palm muting.
Ease of Use:
Gotta give it to Roland, this amp is extremely easy to use. Only thing I looked up in the manual was how to use the chromatic version of the tuner. Involved holding the tuner button down for a full second, that's all. Everything else is intuitive.
Support:
Haven't used it, but everything I've heard/read says Roland provides good support.
Overall:
This is the amp I was looking for. Wanted something that was loud, compact, good value, good quality, with distortion that brings a smile to my face. It did all these. Played a Schecter Damien-6 through it, and sounds awesome. It's the best amp I could have gotten for the money. Almost went with the 20X but changed my mind after realizing only the 30X had the r-fier (mesa/boogie emulator) and I absolutely needed massive gain.

"Everything you could ask for in a guitar... especially the price"
Feature:
When I got this guitar, everything was perfectly set up. I was able to plug it right in and play, and I was really happy with that. The action was set to perfection. One thing I did notice though, is that the screws in the bridge tend to rattle when you're playing. Mine was especially true for the B and high-E strings. But you really can't hear that through the amp so it's easy to work past. All I can say is I wish this had a whammy bar, but that's just personal preference.
Quality:
This guitar is extrememly reliable and besides the aformentioned looseness of those bridge screws, you can totally depend on it to keep going and going through the years.
Value:
You simply can't beat this price. I actually got mine cheaper than its price now. It's truly a price that can't be beat for this quality.
Desirability:
Everything about this guitar's appearance is beautiful. It really makes me feel confident when I'm playing in front of people, because I look down at this incredible piece of equipment I have in my hands, and think to myself, "Yeah, that's right, that's MY guitar."
Sound:
No matter where I plug this guitar in it sounds amazing. The clean tones are crisp and well-defined, and when you throw distortion into the mix, it's raw and crunchy. I play a lot of hard rock and metal (mostly Metallica), and this guitar really helps me achieve the kind of sound i'm looking for. I really couldn't ask for a better sounding guitar. And at the price, it's just incredible.
Ease of Use:
This guitar is so easy to use. Every time I pick it up I'm able to create new and exciting sequences. The harmonics are incredible, and actually quite easy to achieve. You can really do some cool stuff with this guitar.
Support:
Well, I've never needed support, but knowing Epiphone, it's probably good.
Overall:
I'm already in the search for a new guitar, but this one will always be held dear to me. I'll never get rid of this guitar, even if everything gets rundown and broken...which isn't likely.

History:
Purchase:
I an fifty now and when I look back there is only one type guitar that made a great impression on me. A Les Paul. I didn't have the money to buy a expensive Gibson. So when I was at the musicstore there she was standing a beatiful Stagg Les Paul colour sunburst. The price, 120 dollar. For such a beauty I want to give it a change.
What I Like About This Unit:
The paint looks nice and is very good. Also at the back of the guitar. The sound is straight and almost like a orginal Les Paul. I have the guitar now 3 monthts. I only had to tune it once.
What I Do NOT Like About The Stagg L320CS Les Paul:
There is only one thing that I don't like. The bass control on the guitar. You will expect it glides nicely, but it shocks to much.
L320CS Les Paul Quality:
The quality is more than you may expect for that price. It is made of wood. Good painting. It glitters when there is some light. The sound of the guitar is stable. Even when there are temperature fluctuations. Not for a few days, but for weeks without tuning.
Summary:
have the guitar now for four months. I am very pleased with it. It's good quality for that price. At the top of the neck there is a great label with Stagg on it. Stagg shows at this way that it stands for quality. And they are.....................

Date: 2002-12-27
History:
Purchase:
I really wanted a Les Paul type guitar and could not afford a mid to higher end model at that time. I searched lots of music stores online and also checked E Bay. In the end I bought my L320cs off of a supplier on E Bay for £99 plus £10 p&p. Now you can get the same guitar from the same supplier for £89 plus £10 p&p.
What I Like About This Unit:
I like this guitar because it is solidly built, has the exact look I was looking for and is extremely good value for the money I paid for it.
What I Do NOT Like About The Stagg L320 CS:
The G string continually comes out of tune, which is really annoying. The pick up switch doesn't glide easily between settings and the covers on the back weren't cut exactly to size which means there are little gaps around the perimetre's of the covers.
L320 CS Quality:
Again, it is solidly built for the price, but some of the parts don't fit snuggly, especially the back covers, in which the gaps arounds parts of it are quite noticable. The colour is beautiful, although when sunlight shines on it, it can look quite plasticy!
Summary:
For the price, it is an excellent guitar. If your going to pay only a £100 for a mass produced, cheap guitar, you can't expect %100 perfect quality. If you are looking for a cheap Les Paul, first guitar, cheap practice guitar or even if it's all you can afford at the moment, then I can HIGHLY recommend this model. I have rated this guitar according to the basis of comparing guitars in the low end price range, which is why i gave it 4 out of 5, if I was comparing this guitar to ALL guitars then obviously compared to a Gibson it would be a 1 out of 5!

Roland Amps 60
Roland Cube 60 Guitar Combo Amplifier (60 Watts, 1x12 in.)
Roland's Cube-60 takes the acclaimed Cube amplifier line to new levels and larger venues. It packs a punchy 60 watts of power into a compact 12- in. design, giving you the performance of a bigger amp, without the excess baggage. It features enriched COSM amp models, popular digital effects, versatile outputs and well-respected reliability. Just like its popular siblings, Cube-60 stretches the limits of where you can go with your music, both in terms of tone and venues.
Features
- Powerful 60-watt output in a compact, 12 in. speaker design.
- Built-in 9 COSM guitar amp models, including JC, British Combo and R-Fire.
- New Dyna Amp feature offers expressive control over enhanced dynamics and tone transitions based on picking style.
- Six classic built-in Roland effects, including Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo and independent Delay/Reverb.
- Multiple outputs, including Recording/Phones Out, Line Out, Tuner Out and Ext Speaker Out (for connecting external cabinets).

Bigger, and Better
The Cube-60 has more power, punch and performance features than the competition, with a newly developed custom speaker and specially tuned power amplifier. Its compact and lightweight design makes it easy to transport from rehearsal to gig, while its powerful 60-watt output and built in COSM(R) effects and amp models ensures your performance won't go unnoticed, or unheard!

The Cube-60 comes with nine onboard COSM Amp models, including JC, British Combo and R-Fier. Roland's new "Dyna Amp" amp type lets you create unique tone transitions based on picking dynamics. You can get a transparent clean output sound by picking softly, or a powerful hi-gain amp sound by picking more aggressively. Dyna Amp's distortion can create cool tonal transitions based on the intensity of your performance.
Tweak Your Tone
There's plenty of room to tweak your tone, with versatile onboard effects and EQ and a newly equipped Bright switch and Presence knob. Six of Roland's world-class effects are built in, including Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo and an independent Delay/Reverb processor. Additionally, there are footswitch inputs for switching channels and turning delay/reverb and effects On/Off.
Versatile Outputs Fit Any Playing Environment
In addition to the Control feature, the Cube-60 is equipped with a wide range of output options for recording or live performance. There are separate output jacks for Recording/Phones Out, Line Out and Ext Speaker Out. Additionally, the Tuner Out jack makes it easy to connect an outboard tuner such as Roland's TU-Series.

Product Review
"Don't skimp with the 30- get the cube 60!"
Feature:
It would be nice if each effect had a different knob, but that would be mostly unnecessary. And a foot switch would be useful
Quality:
Wow...Mine's been through a lot. I mean, I use it for BASS, and it's a guitar amp. any normal guitar amp would die in weeks from that, but this has lasted for almost a year of bass. The only thing that's ever happened was the plastic ring around theinput jack cracked when I was using it for vocals and our singer yanked the cord to hard. but you can just use one from an ext. speaker spot.
Value:
there are better amps out there, but they're all way outside this price range
Desirability:
It doesn't look like much...Except for the steel grate.
Sound:
This thing sounds awesome, I got it a few years back for my birthday, and hasn't failed me yet. I've used it for guitar, bass, vocals, acoustic guitars, amplifying cds and mp3s, and it's never blown out, or made that annoying cracking noise. The clean channel with the bright switch is pretty cool, but I really only use the superawesome distortion this thing has. Just switch it to "metal", crank up the gain, and you'll be ready to bust out some seriously chunky riffs, or some melodic lead goodness
Ease of Use:
Really easy to use
Support:
never had to deal with'em, and that's the best kind
Overall:
Good sound, amazingly dependable. If mine broke I'd probably see if roland sells the head by itself.

Zoom G2.1u Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal
Price: RM 595
G2.1u: Taking Multi-Effects to the Next Level
Conventional floor-type multi-effect processors are designed to sound good when they are plugged into a guitar amp. Modeling processors are designed for recording in line. Until now, there was no product that could handle both scenarios with equal finesse.
Introducing The G Series from Zoom. Each G Series Pedal offers two algorithms: One for live and one for recording. The sound you created at practice or in the studio can now be brought straight to the stage. Or take the sounds you worked out during a rehearsal and apply them seamlessly in the recording studio. Your creative scope has suddenly doubled.
Features:
- 16 amp/stomp modeling9 effect modules
- 54 effect types
- 40 user patch + 40 factory patch
- 6 bands EQUSB audio interface
- Built-on Expression Pedal
- Harmonized pitch shifter
- World fastest patch change
- Built-in PCM drum machine
96kHz Sampling Brings Out Authentic Sounding Tube Amp Harmonics
Everyone knows that the sound of tube amplifiers is the ultimate in guitar tone. By employing high-accuracy sampling at 96kHz, G Series pedals faithfully model these sonic properties, right up to the highest harmonic register. Dynamic range is also excellent, thanks to 24-bit A/D/A conversion. These extremely high levels of digital processing also make your playing sound cleaner and clearer thanks to the fast processing speeds.
ZFX-3: A New-Generation DSP from Zoom
The heart of any multi-effect device is its processor and decoder section. Zoom has reached a new level with its newly developed ZFX-3 chip. 32-bit architecture ensures smooth and detailed signal processing. Accuracy and speed bring out the character of your instrument without restrictions.
54 High-Quality Effects Made Possible by 32-Bit Processing
A total of nine effects modules are included, including dynamics, ambience, drive, and modulation. Together they offer 54 types of effects. The Harmonized Pitch Shifter lets you play along in key. Use long delays or multi-tap delay of up to 5000 milliseconds. Select dynamic flanger and have the effect level controlled by picking intensity. Select from 3 types of modulation waveforms for the tremolo. A multitude of high-performance choices opens up totally new territory in this class. Touch up the harmonic register with the 6-band equalizer. The cabinet simulator gives a choice of mic positions. The G Series has in incredible level of flexibility and the ability to create an awesome array of great tones.
Latest Modeling Technology Supports 16 Different Drive Sounds
By digitally simulating the clipping action of analog devices such as tubes and diodes, the G Series faithfully duplicates the distortion of tube amps and vintage effects. This includes not only the superficial sound character but also elements such as depth and dynamics. As you start using the G Series, you will be amazed by the realistic balance between fundamental notes and harmonics that is essential to a great analog tone.
The Right Tools for the Job: Editing Controls with Analog Feel
The 3 rotary knobs let you tailor 3 different parameters at the same time. This could be the equalizer bass/midrange/treble, or the chorus depth/rate/mixing level, or the delay time/feedback/mixing level. It's like having an array of stomp boxes ready for action. In play mode, the 3 knobs are assigned to drive effect gain, tone, and patch level. This lets you quickly match the unit's performance to the guitar or amp type, room acoustics, or other factors. Delay time and modulation rate settings can be made directly via the intuitive TAP key input.
Preset Patches Ready to Use for Recording or Live Performance
The unit comes preprogrammed with a total of 40 preset effects patches. 20 pairs of similar sounding and similarly named effects are optimized respectively for use with a guitar amp on stage or for recording with DAW software or a mixer. There are settings for duplicating well-known amps and stomp boxes, settings that are modeled on the signature sound of famous guitarists, as well as totally original Zoom creations. There is also enough built-in memory to store up to 40 of your own effects patches.
World's Fastest Patch Change Speed: 5ms
Thanks to the speed of Zoom's new processors, that annoying interval when switching patches has been all but eliminated. With its amazing speed of 0.005 seconds, the G Series pedals never miss a beat. When changing from rhythm to lead, you no longer need to press the switch slightly in advance. Simply push the foot switch and start playing the solo phrase. No more fear of losing the rhythm when making patch changes.
Built-In Auto-Chromatic Tuner for Guitar
The guitar tuner can be called up instantly by pushing two foot switches together. High-brightness LED indicators make the note readout easy to see also on a dark stage. The calibration range is 435 to 445Hz, and mute tuning without sound output is also possible.
ZNR Makes Those Playing Pauses Silent
Zoom Noise Reduction (ZNR) was developed specifically for guitar. While keeping any alteration of the original sound to an absolute minimum, ZNR shuts out unwanted noise in the playing pauses. Even the tails of long sustain notes come out beautifully, with natural release. Additional flexibility is provided by two noise gates. The vintage type Dirty Gate is a great match for fuzz sounds, while the high-speed muting of the Gate setting brings heavy riffs into clear focus.
Integrated Drum Machine with PCM Sound Sources
Realistic drum sounds derived from PCM sources are arranged in a variety of rhythm patterns for different musical genres. The 40 rhythm variations include the steady 8-beat of Rock and Pop, funky 16-beat, a "Jazzy" 4-beat, some great shuffle riffs for blues sessions, and many more choices. Rhythm training is a cinch, and the rotary knobs let you quickly make tempo or level adjustments.
Ultra Low Noise Design: 120dB SN Ratio and -100dB Noise Floor
Specifications such as a signal-to-noise ratio of 120dB and noise floor of -100dB demonstrate a level of performance that is unsurpassed in this class. Background noise is a thing of the past, leaving the unit free to produce only its own superbly transparent sound. Especially when using reverb effects such as Hall, Room, or Spring, the low noise floor combined with 96kHz sampling and 32-bit processing results in breathtaking performance.
Sturdy Metal Chassis and Rubber Damping for Superior Toughness and durability
The combination of a solid metal chassis with shock-absorbent rubber damping ensures that the unit can stand up to the rigors of use on stage. Take it on the road or into the studio, the G Series will not let you down.
2-Way Power Allows Use Just About Anywhere
Thanks to its circuit design optimized for low voltage operation, the unit will run for more than 7.5 hours on a set of four IEC R6 (size AA) batteries. The AC adaptor (AC-0006) can be plugged in for extended studio work, whereas on stage you never need to worry about AC power.
Optional Foot Switch Allows Versatile Remote Operation
With an optional foot switch (FS01) you can set tempos for delay time and modulation rate. Other selectable functions include bank switching, drum machine start/stop, and delay hold on/off switching.
Expression Pedal Adds Further Versatility to Your Guitar Play
The built-in expression pedal is a great way to control effect parameters in real time. Control the vintage wah, pitch shift, or adjust the volume dynamics. Go beyond conventional pedal effects by varying drive gain or modulation rate, and adjusting the mixing ratio of delay and reverb. The dedicated Pedal Assign key and status LED indicators make it a cinch to select the effect to control. Effect on/off switching is also possible by pushing the pedal fully down.
USB Port Enables Computer Recording
The USB port allows the unit to function as an audio interface for a computer. Simply connect a USB cable to utilize the high-quality sound of the G2.1u in a computer-based recording system. The high-performance DAW application "Cubase LE" comes bundled with the unit, so you can start creating sophisticated music straight away. Because playback from the DAW application can be monitored at the G2.1u itself, there are no latency problems during recording. Powering the unit from the computer via the USB bus is also supported.

Product review
"some praise, a gripe, and some advice on how to use it"
Feature:
Came with adaptor. I wish all companies were that sensible. Again, the expression pedal being assignable is a real plus. The drum machine is kind of a joke, but at least its there so I couldn't give it a 10 but it gets a 9. It's good to practice with or lay down a metronome for recording to be recorded over later with real drums or a programmable drum machine (I ordered the Zoom MRT at the same time with this in mind). CuBase is a nice addition too. It is not an easy learning curve, but patience will let you at least use it as a simple multitracker even if you don't want to figure out all the mastering and sound editing stuff. The USB port is handy too because I plug my Mic or bass or drum machine into the pedal, bypass all the effects, and then I can USB my them into CuBase too instead of just the guitar.
Quality:
I haven't had it for long. But it is very SOLID. heavier than I expected. The interface buttons are all recessed so you don't have to worry about stepping on them accidentally, and the 2 main footswitches look pretty indestructable. I have yet to find out if the internal circutry will hold up over time, but my old 9000 from 1993 still works (kind of) if thats any indicator.
Value:
For the price, plus you get CuBase (which is difficult to get the hang of but if you are patient it is nice) it is a great deal. If you are just getting started (or rebuilding a setup from the bottom like me) it can do an awful lot and spare your money to invest in other gear that you will need. No gear can exist in a vacuum, so its nice to have something with this much stuff going on in it for what some single pedals cost.
Desirability:
Zoom has a knack for making cool little compact things with way more stuff than you thought stuffed in there. It's very sleek, very 'efficient' looking. Much sexier than a big tetris-puzzle looking giant pedal board (harder to use, but definitely more stylin). Yeah its pretty sexy.
Sound:
There's a lot of options in the drive module, and being able to assign the expression pedal to anything is really useful. I don't like many of the presets but I usually don't with these kinds of pedals, but it is very clear and a couple of them, especially the MesaBoogie MkIII and the Marshall Guv'nor are very responsive and can be used for very slight crunch to roar just by setting the expresion pedal to 'drive'. I didn't like the wah very much but all the modulation and reverbs etc are nice and clear and have enough parameters that you can saturate or just touch the tone with. It's good, but not as convincing as an amp simulator as I would like. It will do for a good demo plugging direct but there's something kind of brittle or sterile or something I just can't put my finger on makes me want to use it through an amp and mic it instead of plugging direct. But my amp sucks and so does my mic so direct is better than nothing.
Ease of Use:
Here's where I have issues: Its easy enough to program. The big beef I have with it is that you can't cycle through to the patch you want and THEN click to engage it. It's just UP or DOWN... so if you use it live you have to store all the sounds you use in one song in a sequential order... if your song goes from 'clean' to 'dirty' to 'dirty wah' to 'clean' for instance you have to save the 'clean' sound twice so you can jump straight to it from the 'dirty wah' sound without having to back up over the 'dirty' sound first. This isn't a problem if you just go clean to dirty and back in your music but if you like adding more textures it takes a while to store them all in the right order. I was not very happy about this, but it is just a hassle not an insurmountable obstacle.
Support:
I only ever had to contact zoom once, in the days before prolific internet PDF manuals,I called their U.S. distributor because I lost my manual and they sent me a new manual. No charge. No questions asked. Simple.
Overall:
Again the only problem I have is in the UP or DOWN effect switching. It's definitely worth the price. All the stuff you have in there in single pedal form would cost a couple grand, then add in CuBase and it's a pretty nice little package. I recommend. There are a few similar pedals by digitech and behringer and boss and korg but this one definately does a lot more, isn't made of plastic, and comes with CuBase and a USB port, which none of the others I looked at had.
