FIREBIRD X - LIMITED EDITION

BODY CONSTRUCTION

The Physical Guitar

The guitar is made to be comfortable and amazingly easy to play. It features a lightweight body made from hand-sorted swamp ash, with a rock maple neck and Brazilian Angelim Rajado figure board. This construction not only makes it refreshingly light (allowing you to play for many hours without even noticing), but it also allows the guitar to achieve exceptional sustain and tonal range. Firebird X is capable of very resonant and acoustic-like voicing.

The guitar is a bit more than six pounds in total weight. Special resonant chambers not only decrease total weight, but also allow acoustic-like tones and increased overall sustain. The guitar is louder than a typical solid body with substantial tone from lowest bass note to highest treble note. To get more depth, we use a heavy bottom gauge of string with E being about "10" and low E about a "52" with a custom gauge insuring even, crisp tones for all six strings.

This guitar is clearly evolved from a Gibson Firebird, evocative of a rich history, but with contemporary features. With its hand-applied and unique high-end wood finish, the Firebird X is not unlike a cross between a vintage sports car and a modern sports racer. It is beautiful, historical and yet contemporary and unique. With a limited run of just 1,800 units, it is sure to become a collector classic.

Scarfs and large radius corners are everywhere the arm and body come into contact. It is smooth and comfortable, even when you are playing for hours. It's almost not there.

BALANCE – WITH STRAP AND SITTING
The balance point for the upper bout and the lower curve for placement on the leg are exceptionally balanced and comfortable. This is a guitar you can play for hours without soreness or fatigue.

We have developed a patent-pending strap that attaches at the upper bout with a single strap lock that comes with the guitar. That strap is much more comfortable, evenly distributing the lightweight beast and allowing complete freedom of motion. A simple adjustment allows you to adjust the hanging height on the fly. Both strap buttons are available if you desire a more traditional hang.

THE AESTHETICS – THE LOOK
The look builds on the Firebird's and Gibson's history. The wood grain is accentuated, so it "pops" with staining technique.

The fingerboard has character with a slightly burnt maple look. The neck inlays are tilted parallelograms, with a very dark wood. The headstock has a classic Gibson dove wing shape, which is bound, and a Firebird-style truss rod cover.

The look has a very classic fine furniture look with marquetry, elegant curves and smooth rounds. It is very appealing to a guitar player and non-guitar player alike.

NECK
The neck is thin, fast, and asymmetrical with a smooth, non-stick satin finish. A volute at the nut allows the hand to quickly find the first position and improves total sustain and strength. The neck joint is smoothly blended from neck to body with just a slight roundness, allowing maximum access to high register strings. The lower cut away cuts deeper, affording exceptional access to the high register.

The fingerboard has low-profile, fretless wonder frets and a highly polished Angelim Rajado surface. Angelim Rajado is an extremely smooth and durable precious Brazilian wood which is FSC certified.

This allows fretting to have almost no impact on pitch (higher frets cause a slight pitch change when the finger depresses the string). Finally, the fretboard is extended to 23 frets, allowing the player to achieve a full, two-octave range with a bend.

The Angelim Rajado neck is hand-sorted and is exceptionally stable, allowing previously unachievable tolerances on our factory set up and maintaining this great set up over time.

PICKUPS
The Firebird X product uses three mini-humbuckers and a vastly improved hexaphonic piezo bridge pickup with an improved low noise, high dynamic-range preamplifier, making this a fully active guitar. The pickups are based on traditional Firebird designs, but have been significantly improved to provide more tonal range and to match the studio-grade preamplifier section. The result is that the signal dynamic analog dynamic range exceeds the specification of the high-end electronics — 110 dB.

Each coil of the electro-magnetic pickup is individually controlled, allowing each coil to be on, off, or on-reverse polarity. The guitar's presets use the best combinations to recreate the world's best tones and some great new tones. New combinations can be made using the Firebird X editor, giving you an unlimited sonic palette.

•4 lead wire standard color code
•Mini-humbucker side-by-side coils
•Ceramic blade magnets
•Solid chrome cover
•Metalize plastic trim ring
•Well-shielded and adjustable for max S/N
•With 3 pickups, 6 coils
•Can be used in any combination
•Humbucking/noise canceling single coil modes
•Lower turns from 8400 (standard Firebird) to 4200 (lower weight and lower noise pickup)

The piezo pickup has a new, sweet acoustic-like tone, allowing the guitar to replicate a true acoustic instrument.

All controls on the guitar feel like they come from very high-end professional equipment. The pots are silky smooth with just the right amount of friction. All switches feel crisp and final — no wobble. The surfaces are knurled or textured to allow use with sweaty hands.

This guitar continues on a tradition of having electronic tuners, and a fourth generation of supporting hardware and software. What this means is that the guitar can change tuners even more quickly and accurately, with an even simpler way to get to multiple tunings.

The tuners can be used manually and have been enhanced to be more robust with a better feel when used manually.

Digital guitar wireless systems

Relay G30 - RM1092.25

WIRED TONE WIRELESS FREEDOM

Relay™ digital guitar wireless systems redefine the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists. They deliver wired tone, uncompromising dependability and refreshingly simple operation like no other wireless systems can. And they can do it on every stage around the world.

VWT™
Exclusive VWT (Virtual Wire Transmission) technology ensures full-range frequency response, excellent transient response, and wide dynamic range - just like a high-quality guitar cable.

SUPERIOR SPECS
Relay digital wireless systems produce full-range tones with 10Hz-20kHz frequency response, exceedingly low noise with up to 120dB dynamic range, and studio-quality resolution with 24-bit A/D conversion. (Comparably priced analog wireless systems offer 50Hz-15kHz frequency response and >90dB dynamic range. This wreaks havoc on your tone, especially if you use a high-gain amp.)

CABLE TONE SIMULATION
Using a cable and a wireless system? Now you can switch back and forth without having to adjust the tone settings on your amplifier. Relay digital wireless systems feature a Cable Tone Simulator, which lets you match the sound of your Relay to the sound of your cable.

COMPANDER FREE
Companders squash your signal and ruin your tone. Analog wireless systems require companders but Relay wireless systems do not. Remaining compander-free enables Relay to deliver a beautiful high-end sparkle, thunderous low-end punch, and touch response that analog wireless systems simply cannot deliver

DCL™
Exclusive DCL (Digital Channel Lock) technology automatically locks out all sources of interference. The only sound that will come out of your amplifier is you - not static, not Top 40 radio, just you. Guaranteed.

2.4GHz BROADCAST
What about WiFi?
Worried about interference caused by 2.4GHz WiFi networks and Bluetooth® devices? Don't be. Relay digital wireless systems use uniquely addressed and encoded digital transmission technology. Your tone will make it from your transmitter to your receiver free of interference. The best way to avoid interference? Don't get in its way. Relay digital wireless systems broadcast in the 2.4GHz band, which successfully avoids interference caused by TV stations, public safety broadcasts, cell phone towers, and other high-powered sources.

FULL QUALITY NO MATTER WHAT
Whether you're playing two feet from your Relay or at the edge of its range, you get the same great specs: full frequency response, superior dynamic range, cable-inspired dependability, and 24-bit A/D conversion.

SET UP IN SECONDS
Relay digital wireless systems are hassle free and work right out of the box. Just power up, pick a channel, and go!

ALL CHANNELS ALL THE TIME
All channels in all Relay digital wireless systems work all the time. Too good to be true? Maybe for an analog wireless system. Relay digital wireless systems are different. There's no website to reference, and no need to scan for open channels..

RACK READY PEDAL BOARD PERFECT
Perfectly placed ins and outs, metal and polycarbonate enclosures, internally mounted antennas: Relay digital wireless system receivers are the perfect additions to any pedal board or rack

AGGRESSIVE HIGH-GAIN TO DELICATE ACOUSTIC

We've even included rare tube amps as well as sought-after boutique amps, so you can choose from numerous classic amp sounds. Use the 10 cabinet models in conjunction with the drive/amp types and you can select from large four-speaker cabinets to combo-type cabinets while reproducing the ambience that is distinctive to each cabinet. All of the effects you need for live performance are provided, with standard effects such as compressor, wah, delay, reverb, and acoustic simulator, as well as unique effects such as a pickup effect that gives you the sounds of various types of pickups, and a drone effect that simulates the sympathetic strings of a sitar.

EXPRESSION PEDAL LIMITLESS EXPRESSIVE POWER

The AX5G has an expression pedal that lets you control an effect in real time using your foot. You can use this to control volume, wah, or nearly any effect parameter such as the gain of an amp model or the speed of a tremolo or flanger, giving you great expressive potential for live performances. A three-color LED indicates the effect (volume, wah, etc.) that is assigned to the expression pedal. There's also a Quick Assign function so you can assign an effect parameter at one touch and adjust the variable range yourself for maximum flexibility.

FULL EDITING SOUND-CREATING FREEDOM

Each amp and effect type provides a full complement of parameters. When you select an amp or effect, the optimal values are assigned automatically, so that anyone can enjoy the best sounds immediately. The main parameters that are most effective can be accessed via the knobs for direct editing. In addition, sub-parameters are also provided for you to perform more detailed sound editing, and the simple and easy-to-understand interface allows you to quickly adjust the sound to your taste.

80 PROGRAMS TO USE RIGHT AWAY

AUTO CHROMATIC TUNER & OTHER FUNCTIONS

The AX5G includes an auto chromatic tuner. There's a Mute mode that lets you tune without producing sound from your guitar amp, so it's easy to tune on stage. The AX5G also provides an AMP/LINE parameter that ensures that you're outputting the optimal signal for your connected equipment, whether it's a direct-line connection, a combo amp with an open backed cabinet, or an amp stack with a closed cabinet. This ensures that you're always getting the best sound and taking the fullest advantage of the AX5G's potential. With its compact body that slips easily into the pocket of your gig bag, and the convenience of battery-powered operation, the AX5G is the ideal way to get the best guitar sounds anywhere – home, studio, or on stage.

30 AMP / STOMP BOX MODELS

1. Fender Twin Reverb ’65: This is the tube combo amp often called the ''Black Panel''. Its clean sound is characterized by flamboyant highs.

2. VOX AC30: This Class A tube combo amp is representative of the 1960s Liverpool sound created by such bands as The Beatles and The Shadows. Its major appeal is unclouded straightforward sound.

3. Fender BASSMAN: This tube-based combo amp was originally designed as a bass amplifier, but its high-pitched distortion has made it a general favorite among Blues greats and Rock guitarists.

4. MESA/BOOGIE MarkIII: Combo amp noted for its extended midrange and long sustain. A mainstay of fusion guitarists, from Santana to Larry Carlton.

5. HIWATT Custom100: HIWATT ranks along with Marshall as one of the leading British amplifier brands, and this is their most famous model. Different from the flamboyant Fender clean sound, it gives a wet sound with prominent midrange.

6. Marshall 1959 SupreLead 100: This amp with the nickname "Plexi" is one of the most famous amplifiers in Rock history. Its aggressive transients and distortion sounds are complemented by smooth harmonics.

7. Marshall JCM2000: Flexible stack amp that covers a wide range of genres. Traditional Marshall sound combines power with rich harmonics, but sharp metallic distortion is also possible.

8. PEAVEY 5150 STACK: The high-gain tube stack made famous by Eddie Van Halen. Produces tight bass and detailed distortion.

9. Diezel Herbert: This high-gain amp with three channels is fully capable of producing the ultra powerful bass that the modern Rock scene demands.

10. MESA/BOOGIE Dual Rectifier: High-gain stack amp with two rectifier circuits (silicone diode and vacuum tube) gives punchy metallic drive sound, great for hard modern rock.

11. BOSS OD-1: Overdrive with mild, richly nuanced distortion in the manner of a fully driven tube amp. Popular as a booster for giving backbone to a stack amp.

12. Ibanez TS808: Known as the Tube Screamer, this produces natural sounding distortion similar to driving a tube circuit. The pedal is also famous for being used by the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan.

13. Marshall Guv' nor: Stomp box that recreates the distortion of a Marshall amp. Popular among hard rock guitarists as an easy way to get the Marshall sound.

14. MXR Distortion+: A stomp box from MXR that put the word ''distortion'' on the map. Hard Rock and Heavy Metal artists love it for its hard and edgy sound.

15. BOSS DS-1: The orange pedal that became synonymous with distortion sound. Its trebly character never gets lost in the band ensemble. A favorite of Joe Satriani and Kurt Cobain.

16. PROCO RAT: This is one of the most widely used pedals. It covers a wide range from crunch sound to fuzz-like sound.

17. Dallas-Arbiter FUZZ FACE: Fuzz pedal famous for its unique round ''face'' design. Vintage fuzz sound fueled by the destructive energy of germanium diodes.

18. Electro-Harmonix BIG MUFF: Since its introduction in 1968, this vintage fuzz pedal has fascinated many great guitarists. Long sustain and thick, sweet distortion are its most prominent characteristics.

19. BOSS MT-2: A distortion pedal with real wild metal character and fat midrange. Go for the ultra long sustain.

20. MATCHLESS HOT BOX: Tube preamp for creating that MATCHLESS amp quality. Fat and punchy drive sound brings out the picking nuances.

21. Z Clean (ZOOM original): Beautiful, transparent clean tone created by ZOOM. The well-rounded, smooth sound is great for arpeggios and cutting.

22. Z Wild (ZOOM original): High-gain sound with further boost in the overdrive.

23. Z MP1 (ZOOM original): Original sound that combines characteristics of the ADA MP1 and Marshall JCM800.

24. Z Bottom (ZOOM original) : High-gain sound with pronounced low and mid range.

25. Z Dream (ZOOM original): High-gain sound for lead guitar based on the Lead channel of the Mesa Boogie Road King Series II.

26. Z Scream (ZOOM original): Original high-gain sound with good balance from the low to high range

27. Z Neos (ZOOM original): Crunch sound modeled on a modified Vox AC30.

28. Lead (ZOOM original): Smooth, bright distortion sound.

29. Extreme DS (ZOOM original): High gain sound with the most powerful gain of any distortion effect in the world.

USB AUDIO INTERFACE

The G2.1Nu operate as an audio interface, letting you record directly to a computer connected via USB cable. All your sound settings used during rehearsal or a live performance can be recorded onto your DAW software. Its direct monitoring capability eliminates any latency problems, assuring realistic studio conditions and hassle-free operation.

• Quantization : 16-bit
• Sampling frequencies : 32/44.1/48 kHz
• Supported OS : Windows XP/Vista/7, Mac OS X v10.4/10.5/10.6

EDIT & SHARE YOUR CREATIVITY

Our Edit & Share software is available through a free download and allows you to use your computer to intuitively create, edit and save your own, personalized amp and effect settings. Use our “radar charts” to show a visual representation of the tone characteristics of each preset patch. And amp/effect type sorting helps you quickly find the tone you are after. Using drag and drop to rearrange patches makes editing easy and fun, and you can even download the latest patches online. You can even share your patches with others or download a cool patch someone else created.

DIRECT MODE OPTIMIZED FOR RECORDING

All 30 drive sounds have a special modeling algorithm designed specifically for line recording. Simply turn on the DIRECT key on the top panel and enjoy dynamic amp sounds that recreate the ideal speaker cabinet characteristics over a flat response audio system or headphones. Of course, this mode works perfectly for direct recording to a DAW application via the USB audio interface.

20 AMAZING PATCHES BY STEVE VAI

The G2.1Nu features 20 highly creative and versatile patches produced under the supervision of master guitarist Steve Vai. Also included are dozens of presets that authentically recreate the vintage rock sounds of the sixties and seventies, plus the styles of many famous artists. We supply 100 patches right out of the box and you can create your own and save up to 100 more right on the pedal.

SMOOTH TUBE DISTORTION ZFX-3 PROCESSOR

To recreate the rich blend of harmonics in the upper frequency ranges that are unique to tube amplifiers, you need a powerful, fast processor. Thanks to its high-resolution signal processing using 96 kHz sampling and 24-bit A/D/A conversion, the advanced ZFX-3 sound engine implements complex digital modeling technology to convincingly recreate those subtle tube amp characteristics.

LARGE LCD PANEL INTUITIVE OPERATION

One of the most important and useful new additions to the G2.1Nu is its large 1.9 inch display. This new screen makes creating your own sounds a breeze. But we also have simplified the interface with three large control knobs to make changing your tone similar to a stomp box, making the overall operation easy and intuitive.

COLLECTORS EDITION 83 GUITAR EFFECT TYPES

Ranging from standard to advanced, nine modules with 83 high-quality effects provide unsurpassed flexibility and tonal variation. Choose effects like the MXR Dynacomp, famed for its peculiar compression, Vox Crybaby and other renowned wah pedals, four types of chorus with great depth and ambience and six types of reverb providing transparent clarity. Or let your tonal imagination run free with dynamic flangers, tremolo with selectable modulation waveform, harmonized pitch shifter, multi-tap delay, reverse delay and many more.

STUDIO QUALITY 6-BAND GRAPHIC EQUALIZER

The frequency bands of the built-in 6-band graphic equalizer were designed specifically for electric guitar. In the crucial midrange, which determines a great deal about tonal quality (400 Hz, 800 Hz, 3.2 kHz, 6.4 kHz), peaking type characteristics are used. The low end (160 Hz) and high end (12 kHz) are adjusted with shelving type curves. This gives you the complete tone control capability normally found on high-end studio gear.

AUTO-CHROMATIC TUNER WITH LED INDICATION

The LCD display and LED indicators make its auto- chromatic tuner easy to use on a dark stage. Its mute tuning capability is also very useful on stage.

INTEGRATED DRUM MACHINE PCM SOUND

Choose from 40 different rhythm patterns including 8-beat and 16-beat as well as 4-beat, shuffle and many other variations. The intuitive tap key makes it easy to directly set the tempo. Start a jam session anytime, anywhere.

LOOPER FUNCTION RECORDS 5-SECOND PHRASES

Use its 5 second looper function to record, playback and overdub guitar phrases that can be controlled with your pedal. This ''sound-on-sound'' feature lets you lay down phrases in real time, and during a live solo, you can use the looped sound as backing.

ULTRA LOW NOISE DESIGN

Specifications such as a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB and noise floor of -100 dBm provide a level of performance that is unsurpassed. Background noise is effectively eliminated, and ZOOM's proprietary ZNR noise reduction also removes unwanted noise. Even the tails of sustained notes come out beautifully, with natural release.

EXTREMELY FAST 5 MS PATCH CHANGE SPEED

With its amazing patch change speed of only 5 milliseconds, the G2.1Nu allows you to never miss a beat. Change from rhythm playing to a solo in an instant by simply pushing the switch and start playing the solo phrase at the same time because the muting interval when switching patches has been reduced to an absolute minimum.

OPTIONAL FOOT SWITCH REMOTE OPERATION

The optional foot switch (FS01) allows tap tempo input for rhythm, looper, and effects. Other selectable functions include rhythm pattern start/stop, bank switching, delay input muting, and delay hold on/off switching.

EXPRESSION PEDAL VERSATILITY TO GUITAR PLAY

You can connect an optional expression pedal (FP02) to control effect parameters such as wah, pitch shift, volume, drive gain, modulation rate, or delay/reverb mix in real time. The G2.1Nu has a built-in expression pedal and a dedicated PEDAL ASSIGN key which makes it easy to select the effect you want control on any patch setting. Effect on/off switching is also possible by pushing the pedal fully down.

HEAVY-DUTY CONSTRUCTION SLIM SIZE

While offering performance and functions far beyond its class, the G2.1Nu has a sturdy metal chassis that can stand up to the rigors of the road, yet, it’s still compact enough to fit into the pocket of a guitar case. Wherever you need it: on tour, in the studio, or rehearsals, the G2.1Nu is ready to rock.

RUNS ON BATTERIES AC ADAPTOR USB BUS POWER

The G2.1Nu can use three different power sources: AC adaptor, batteries or USB bus power when plugged into your computer. Four AA / LR6 alkaline batteries are good for 6.5 hours of continuous use. Whether in the studio or on stage, the G2.1Nu gives you power options that work.

Review

"Greatest little device since penis butter! I am totallty loving it! "

Feature:
It is so elegantly simple even a gearslutz monkey could operate it. Nuff said. I love it! And am getting another one or two to incorporate into my live rig. I am totally enamored with this little sumbich! Kudos Zoom!

Quality:
Solid!

Value:
Best $199.00 I have ever spent on anything. I need three more!!!

Desirability:
Vewy Vewy Sexy! Now evewybody be vewy vewy quiet and go play your guitars ....

Sound:
It sounds great. I rated it a 7 because I have a ton of real point to point amplifiers and nothing will ever model a 65, or 66, or 67, or 68 plexi, or a modded plexi or 1959 JCM 800, or Bassman, or 65 Twin etc. It'll never happen. But this puppy is soooo cool and sounds soooo good to dial in fast studio or live sounds. I took it out of the box. Logged on to Zoom, downloaded the Edit& Share app and loaded it as administrator, then downloaded the Win 7 x64 drivers and installed, then plugged in the USB and w/o looking at the manual figured everything out. It all took less than 5 minutes. I love it. Just sent an RP1000 back because you need a darned Masters from MIT to figure it out. Who wants to spend hours programming crap anymore. This baby is plug in and play an instant gratification. I havent even plugged it into one of my Marshall EL34 power amps yet. Just plugged it in mono to the back of a VOX AC30 2x12 return into it's G12-25V and a Celestion Blue 12 inch and started scrolling thru presets and OMG! I downloaded the Stee VAI pretests as well and oaded these into a new folder in the Edit & Play App. It comes with Cubase LE but I am no longer a Steinberg anything person. It can stay in the box in its little the plastic wrapper. I got rid of Nuendo and Cubase last year because they pissed me off so bad with their totally crappy customer support. But I am using Reaper WIN7 x64 that works like a total charm, and n-Tracks 64, and will eventually get Sonar 8.5 x64 sometime later this summer when the Boss BR800 pans out. We need a few of these on the tour bus between shows on the road to lay down ideas to SDHC on the fly. I like the R24 but it still looks too flimsy for touring duty ... Boys and girls, this baby is so cool you will be leaping with joy for a change that a company actually got something so right.

Ease of Use:
Somebody at Zoom is awake. They must have read all my posts at gearslutz: KISS --- Keep It Simple Stupid!

Support:
Not required. Everything works like a charm.

Overall:
Replace it? Are U Nutso? Nope. Its a keeper

Empress Superdelay

The Empress Superdelay isn’t your basic delay. Sure it does basic delay sounds, and it sounds better than anything else out there while doing them. But if all you want is a simple delay, the Empress Superdelay isn’t for you. The Empress Superdelay is for musicians who want to be inspired by their pedals, not limited by them

Features of the Superdelay

Killer Sound Quality – The Signal to Noise ratio is around 105dB.

2.8 Seconds of Delay Time – For your extra long delays.

8 modes – normal, tap, autoset (delay time is set by tempo played), reverse, rhythm mode (multitap), tape mode, misc (dynamic, gate), and 12 second looper.

Expression Pedal Input – allows you to control either mix or feedback with your foot.

High Pass/Low Pass Filter – high pass is good for electronic music, low pass is sweet for darker analog delay type sounds.

Fast/Slow Modulation – slow adds extra texture, fast is a little crazy.

8 Presets – Settings can be saved to 8 presets. With three stompswitches, accessing the presets is easy.

Tap Tempo with Ratios – many of the modes use tap tempo, and the ratio selection makes fast in-time delay times easy.

True Bypass – The Empress Superdelay employs true bypass, so you can be sure that it’s not affecting the signal when disengaged.

Small Size – The enclosure measures approximately 5.7” by 3.75” by 1.75”, which is delightfully small when considering all the features packed into this unit.

45 Day Money Back Guarantee – If for any reason the Superdelay isn’t for you, send it back within 45 days for a refund. Read our Guarantee for more details. This guarantee does not cover Empress products not bought from www.empresseffects.com.

Two Year Warranty – The Empress Superdelay comes with a two-year warranty. Read our Warranty for details. You can extend the warranty to 4 years by simply registering online.

Great Value – The Empress Superdelay is the last delay you’ll ever have to buy. It retails on empresseffects.com and in select music stores for $449 USD. Order one now!

The Empress Superdelay does not run off of batteries. It comes with a power supply. The Empress Superdelay requires 300mA, positive tip, 9 to 12 VDC.

You can power the Empress Superdelay from outputs 5 or 6 of the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+. You’ll need to use the red barrel connector. You must set the corresponding DIP switch away from the NORMAL position. Also, since the Superdelay requires nearly 300mA, you should only use the other output for a much lower current pedal.

T-Rex power supply for effect users

T-REX FUEL TANK CLASSIC

This is the classic FuelTank that has 3 different output sections: 9 volt DC, 12 volt DC and 12 volt AC. Each section is isolated.

Running on full

No more batteries to change. No more tangled cables to trip over. FuelTank is the perfect power supply unit for guitarists who want to focus on their performance, not their gear.

Delivering 1.500 mA through ten DC plugs, FuelTank powers all your pedals – keeping you running on full power night after night.

With a compact design, FuelTank fits conveniently every pedalboard including the T-Rex ToneTrunk effect board. And it comes with all the cables you need to get you up and running. The dimensions of the FuelTank are:L:15,8 cm H:3,8 cm W:7,6 cm

Pure power

FuelTank delivers 1.500 mA of reliable power. Two of the ten outputs provide 12-volt power with isolated ground – one DC and the other AC, for AC pedals.

Features

• MAINS input power plug, 3-pin standard plug
• Voltage selector, 115/230 volts
• eight 9-volt DC output plugs, all sharing the same ground. Giving a total of 500 mA
• one 12-volt DC output with isolated ground, giving 500 mA
• one 12-volt AC output with isolated ground, giving 500 mA
• Blue LED when unit is ON
• Slow burning fuse 250V 250mA

Includes

- One 5-connector link cable/daisy chain for the DC outputs
- Eight black extension cables for the DC outputs, length 25 cm
- ten black extension cables for the DC outputs, length 50 cm
- two red extension cables for the 12-volt AC output, 25 cm
- one standard mains power cable

Listen up, there is a lesson to learn!

When you want to power your pedal from the FuelTank Classic or any other power supply, there are two things you need to know about your pedal:

1. What voltage does your pedal accept to be driven?

You need to find this information in the pedal users manual or on the pedal. Most pedals today accept 9 or 12 volt. Some need 18 volt. If there is a battery container in the pedal it usualy just needs 9 volt, but often it also accepts 12 volt.

All T-Rex pedals can run on 12 volt. Some (the ones with battery container) can also run on 9 volt. But they accept any voltage between 9 and 12 volt.

If your pedal get's less than the voltage it needs, there is no danger. It will not break or burn. It just sounds different or says nothing at all. Some musicians even use old batteries, that gives less power and therefore the pedal gives another sound - which they like.

If your pedal get's more voltage than it needs, there is danger that the pedal will break or even burn. If you are lucky, it will have a fuse inside (to be replaced), but most pedals don't.

2. How much power does your pedal consume?

You need to find this information in the pedal users manual or on the pedal in terms of a sticker, if you are lucky. If your pedal has a battery container, it usually consumes very little power, like 20 - 40 mA. If your pedal comes with an adapter, it consumes a lot more power. That can vary from 100 mA to 1.200 mA, or even more.

Now you are ready to buy and connect your pedal(s) to a power supply.

If you have a combination of pedals that accept 9 or 12 volt, you have come to the right place, FuelTank Classic. The Classic even gives 12 volt AC, if you have a pedal that needs that kind of voltage.

If you have more pedals that accept 9 volt and together uses less than 500 mA, you can run them all from one output on the Classic 9 volt section - by using the link cable. One end of the link cable goes in one of the 9 volt outputs on the FuelTank Classic. The other plugs on the link cable goes into the pedals one by one. The order is irrelevant.

If you have more pedals that accept 12 volt and together uses less than 500 mA, you can run them all from the 12 volt DC output on the Classic - by using the link cable. One end of the link cable goes in the 12 volt output. The other plugs on the link cable goes into the pedals one by one. The order is irrelevant.
If you have a pedal that accepts 12 volt, but consumes more than 500 mA. You cannot use the FuelTank Classic. You need the FuelTank JuicyLucy and the green current doubler cable, that comes with the JuicyLucy. This cables goes from two outputs on the JuicyLucy to one input on your pedal.
If you have a pedal that only accepts 18 volt, you cannot use the Classic. You need the FuelTank Junior and the yellow voltage doubler cable that comes with the Junior - if your pedal consumes less than 120 mA, else you cannot use the Junior.

If you have a pedal that accepts 12 volt AC and consumes less than 500 mA (like the T-Rex Replica), you simply connect it to the AC output on the Classic using the red cable.

Notes.

Please note that a lot of 9 volt pedals on the market accepts 12 volt. Lot's of people are not aware of this, because they usually juts use a 9 volt battery to drive the pedal or a 9 volt power supply.

Please note that all FuelTanks and all T-Rex pedals have minus as center, which is normal on the market. That means the center pin in the DC plugs. Very few pedals use the opposite: Center pin is positive. If you have a twisted pedal like that, you need to find a changer cable somewhere on the market, if you want to use a normal power supply, that has minus as center.

Please note the power distributors on the market. People and manufacturers call them power supplies, even though they are not. They don't have a transformer core inside. They are usually feeded by an adapter and the power is then just distributed in the box to more output plugs - sometimes in different voltage. Often all outputs share the same ground, which can give noise.

T-Rex FuelTanks are all real power supllies with real transfomers inside, developed in Denmark and produced by a Danish transformer company, that works together with T-Rex.

Any of the FuelTanks meets the demands for a modern power supply. Solid design, no noise, lots of outputs, cables included, variable mains input (115/230 volt), input fuse inside.

Hammer Guitar

April's Cover Girl: Red Molly

"Once in a while you've got to do something crazy to keep your sense of sanity intact. This guitar is the throwback-wackadoo shredder tribute to metaldom that we rarely build. So of course, we loved doing it. Once."

Clever little pop-up battery box for the Sustainiac battery.

Upside down and backwards, so wrong... so right!

The classic Hamer heel blend. The access to the highest frets is superb, and with the sustainiac switched to the "harmonic" position you can play notes only dogs hear!

Black binding, fingerboard and hardware against a transparent red flamed maple top gives this guitar the "Bordello" look. The fingerboard choice had to be black ebony with black binding to match the rest of the instrument. Crown inlays of mother of pearl are juxtaposed with the giant pole-piece of the Sustainiac driver. Is that a Floyd Rose?

Continuing the red and black theme, the back of the guitar is festooned with black cover plates to house the various electronics imbedded in the mahogany back.
