Hamer STD-NT - Standard

"The idea here is to build a reduced size instrument that retains most of the full scale length, so that it plays and sounds like a normal guitar. The History of the Mini Standard goes back to Rick Nielsen's #0132 which was built in 1979. Soon after that we made one each for Joe Perry and Brad Whitford. In the 1980s we fitted one with all black hardware and a Floyd rose! This one recalls the styles from the '50s.

The challenge is to make an instrument that stays faithful to the full-size version without looking like a toy. By utilizing a 23 3/8" scale the playability and tone are very close to a full size guitar." The rosewood fingerboard ends with 21 frets. From this angle the guitar looks surprisingly like a "normal" sized Standard. The overall length of the entire guitar is less than 45". The slightly shorter scale enhances the fundamental, which, in contrast to its reduced size, really makes this little guy roar!

A member of the infamous Spider™ family, Spider Jam shares some popular family jewels like 200+ artist-created presets, 150+ song-based presets, 12 Line 6 original amp models and seven Smart Control FX, including reverb and delay. It’s full of fan favorites but Spider Jam also features some new, unique characteristics — like over 100 ribcage-rattling Endless Jam tracks and drum loops played by LA and Nashville’s top session musicians slamming the drums, thumping the bass and hacking away at guitars. These aren’t robotic, computer-generated jam tracks — you’ll feel your pulse racing while you’re jamming with top players in killer tunes that explode out of the speaker in vivid, uncompressed audio. Play for days over the Endless Jams and, with sound-on-sound loop recording, save your scorching solos right into Spider Jam.

Cooking at 75 watts, Spider Jam offers rhythm-section chemistry, hundreds of amazing guitar tones and all your recorded creations pushed out of a 12" Celestion® Custom speaker and a 2" tweeter — this thing’s got so much bang for your buck we should issue it with a health warning.

AMPLIFIER MODELS

Spider Jam™ comes pre-loaded with the tones that made the Spider family so popular: 200+ artist-based presets, 150+ song-based presets and 12 fully adjustable Line 6 original amp models. Just like most of us, each Line 6 original amp model has a light side and a dark side. Or, in some cases, a dark side and darker side…

Clean Red

Crisp, shimmering clean tones and warm jazz tones.

Clean Green

Glassy clean tones like those from the late 60s/early 70s. Inspired by* a ‘73 Hiwatt® Custom 100.

Twang Red

Classic, glassy high-end with some snap and bite. Inspired by* a Fender® blackface ’65 Twin Reverb® and a blackface ’64 Deluxe Reverb®

Twang Green

Swingin’ rockabilly tone a la vintage tweed. Inspired by* a ’53 Fender® tweed Deluxe Reverb®, a ’58 Fender® tweed Bassman® and a ’60 Gibson® Explore

Blues Red

From gritty, swampy clean tones to syrupy smooth drive tones. Inspired by* a mix of a ’65 Marshall® JTM-45, a ’58 Fender® Bassman®, a ’63 Fender® Vibroverb and a Supro®

Blues Green

Early British rock tone made famous by the Beatles the Stones. Inspired by* a fawn Vox® AC-30 with an updated and expanded tone control circuit

Crunch Red

Classic crunchy tone popularized by many early metal bands. Inspired by* a '68 Marshall® Plexi 50-watt

Crunch Green

The infamous brown sound inspired by* a ‘68 Marshall® Plexi 100-watt with a few added extras: jumped input channels and a Variac transformer

Metal Red

Tight and punchy high-gain sound. Inspired by* a Mesa/Boogie® Dual Rectifier®

Metal Green

Aggressive high-gain sound. The mid knob sweeps the tone spectrum: set to minimum for fuzz-pedal characteristics; set to noon for creamy, modern high-gain; crank it for Class A carnage

Insane Red

Famed and feared bone-crushing, brain-piercing grind. Inspired by* the Mesa/Boogie® Dual Rectifier® red channel

Insane Green

Short of a complete meltdown, as much input-gain distortion as possible while retaining tonal definition and character

WORLD-CLASS RHYTHM SECTION

To get the best possible sounds, we’ve compiled a roster of ridiculously good A-list session players and recorded them at amazing studios around the country including Steve Vai’s studio, The Mothership, as well as Sound Asylum in Canoga Park, California and Sound Emporium’s Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee.

Get to know two of the masters who wrote and performed on many of the backing tracks in Spider Jam.

Musical director and bassist Tony Franklin is responsible for writing many of the tracks included in Spider Jam. Tony got his big break playing bass in guitar legend Jimmy Page’s supergroup, The Firm. Tony has since played with a long list of greats including David Gilmour, Marty Friedman, Gary Hoey and Quiet Riot.

Musical director and bassist Dave Pomeroy has played on more than 400 albums with such players as Elton John, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood and The Chieftains. Dave was voted Bassist of the Year at the 1997 Nashville Music Awards.

To round out these tracks, Tony and Dave hired top guitarists, bassists and drummers, collecting a roster of the most devastating names in rock and country music today.
